stop the bus video produced by east pleasant pictures

Excellent - helps capture the intensity of the live show. East Pleasant has also done work for JT and Makers Mark. Two brands that have been referenced recently in the GPN world.

Is this scheduled to be pushed in some way? We can hope.

birmingham alabama city stages interview

Mary Colurso, music columnist for the Birmingham news, has a nice interview and writeup about Grace Potter and the Nocturnals as a run up to their performance at Birmingham’s City Stages Festival next weekend. The band hits the stage at 4:15 on Saturday the 14th.

Q: Fans say the band has gotten louder, heavier and bluesier over the past few years. Is the sound changing that much?
A: I think every band goes through these transitions, even just from one show to the next. I can only hope we’re going in the right direction. I think I’ve become a gutsier singer. When you come from a jazz or choir background, as I do, everything is always so careful and calculated. But when the band get louder, and the amps get turned up to 11, I have to get louder, too.

the opposite of a pokemon commercial that plays over and over

Grace Potter helped out the good folks at XPN by making an appearance at the “Beggars Banquet”

XPN Live Concert

“Big White Gate” back when it was a “new song”

XPN has been a big fan and supporter of the band so it’s nice to see Grace step up to the plate here.

jammy award nominees - vote!

The Jammy Award nominees were posted today by Relix. Grace and the band are nominated in the following categories:

Song of The Year - “Ah, Mary”
Tour of The Year - Gov’t Mule and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

poll

Some odd bands are starting to show up as nominees. As much as I love Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, seeing “100 Days, 100 Nights” up for a Jammy’s award is a bit, well, unusual.

You can vote for your favorites here.

live in the sirius studios

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals Live At The Sirius Studios.

sirius studios

Do you own these three songs? “Ah, Mary”, “Falling or Flying” and “Stop The Bus” were recorded live at the Sirius Studios. Each version is excellent - quality/performance etc. “Stop The Bus” is, as Grace so eloquently puts it, “better than the fucking record”.

Many fans overlooked this under publicized recording. Take a listen by clicking on the image above - you’ll need to have iTunes installed for this to work.

promote grace potter and the nocturnals with these widgets

Ok, this is pretty cool right? Below is the “wide” widget and over in the sidebar is the “narrow” widget. You can grab the code using the “Grab It!” buttones for either of these formats and paste it into your own website. Very nice promo tool isn’t it? The “Buy” and “Store” links now go to Grace’s Indie911 store. The “news” feed points to the RSS feed for this website in a brilliant stroke of marketing.

Let me know if you have any questions.
