photo: Jim Solomon Love the caption “American Badass”
Whether Potter and company where steamrolling through some greasy funky stuff or rocking out, they were killing it and kept the momentum all through the set and got some booties shaking on “If I Was From Paris.”

grace potter and the nocturnals at the all good music festival
Once again, an excellent show - thanks everyone for showing up - until next time . . .
Chat away folks, 6PM is a tough time so I think many people will be coming and going. In case of trouble, there are “Warn” and “Mute” features for troublemakers (not that we plan on having any). The live broadcast will be shown on iClips, check this page for updates. iClips is a risky technical proposition so you get what you pay for - meaning - it’s free and if it works - cool! You must be a member of iClips to watch the live broadcasts so sign up well before the show starts.

iclips to broadcast all good live
iClips Network and All Good Music Festival are proud to announce the live broadcast of the 12th Annual All Good Music Festival, from July 11-13 from Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, W.Va.
The band goes on at 6PM on July 11th - here’s hoping us GPN fans have better luck with this live broadcast than we did with the Mountain Jam show. More about the All Good Music Festival.
Live chat anyone? Sound like a good idea. I’d also personally recommend the Avett Bros. and the Derek Trucks/Susan Tedeschi shows.

charlottesville segue - nbtw into a local favorite
“Nothing But The Water + Sweet Virginia”
Nice version of “NBTW” that does away with the a capella opening in favor of a guitar powered lead in. Followed very nicely by a local favorite “Sweet Virginia” by the Stones at the 9:40 mark.

jambands reviews of the manchester and lebanon shows
Lengthy, thoughtful reviews of both shows that includes extended riffs on The Leaves and Jen Crowell and the Woods Vehicle.
In an era where music gets separated and classified into highly specific genres, it’s slightly comical that a straightforward rock and roll band like Potter & The Nocturnals falls between categories. If they had come around a generation earlier, no such confusion would occur, as they would have fit in nicely with the earthy, rootsy rock bands of the time. In today’s world, people seem to struggle with how to describe a band that consists of a lovely and charming lead singer who plays a devastatingly gorgeous Hammond B3, a guitarist who can expertly deliver the blues as well as reach the melodious heights of guitar geniuses like Roy Buchanan, a bassist who can subtly work the power chords of classic rock without overwhelming the entire sound and a drummer who gets more out of his sparse drum set than most drummers do with a kit twice the size. However you want to characterize them, the New Hampshire shows left no doubt that by defying people’s expectations of what they should be, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals are one formidable, entertaining and exciting band.
I won’t quote all the praise the writer heaps on the band - please read the whole piece yourself.

skowhegan maine - 06/27/08
As I sit here listening on my headphones to this show all I can say is, wow. This band is really in a live groove on this show. Listen to the double whammy of “Tonight’s The Night” followed by the slashing guitar lead on “Over Again” (one of my personal faves) to understand what it’s all about.
