Twelve-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Paul Simon will be gracing Greenwich this Memorial Day weekend as organizers have outdone themselves for the second annual Greenwich Town Party.
The legendary singer-songwriter of such American classics as “The Sound of Silence” and “Mrs. Robinson” with collaborator Art Garfunkel, and the creator of the superlative solo album Graceland,
headlines the event on May 26 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. Tickets go on sale today and may be purchased at Town Hall, by phone or online at GreenwichTownParty.com. And despite an expected increased capacity this year, the tickets are expected to go fast.
The packed talent bill also includes rock band Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, reggae sensation The Wailers, gospel legend Kirk Franklin and contemporary blues players the Tedeschi Trucks Band. In addition, local bands will also be participating, just as they did last year when the Greenwich Town Party debuted to raves from residents and from town officials.
