Show writeup
Q&A #1, Q&A #2
Jambands review

A remarkable showman . . .er showwoman, Potter is so much more than a sexy girl rocking a Flying V. In addition to her remarkable stage presence, she simply has a tremendous voice and while the comparisons to greats like Janis Joplin may be unfair given her iconic status, they aren’t entirely unwarranted. Male or female, it takes an extremely courageous singer to tackle an Otis Redding song, and in Manchester, Potter not only took on “Pain In My Heart” she made it seem easy. Even more impressive, during that night’s a capella intro to “Nothing But The Water,” Potter started to improvise and changed her cadence – only the crowd wasn’t on the same page, clapping out a different beat from the one Potter was singing. Hardly detectable, Potter subtly started tapping her leg, blocked out everything and continued to stretch out the opening, testifying with the skill of the gospel greats.

Hmmm … I’m trying to think of a way to tell my cousin, who’s getting married in CT that day, that this show is far more important. The sacrifices we make for family … missing this one’s gonna be painful.

Last year my Nephew was engaged to be married The first day of Wanee!?!? Sorry it didn’t work out … Glad to get to Wanee! Kim it’s possible … I’m going to offer it to a friend who has been telling me how much she loves them … And watching me go to shows. If she can’t make it … It’s all yours! Mo latah

Kim,

Tickets are at the door – no other confirmation than Paypal. If you’re nervous about that – send someone an e-mail. This is how they did it last year as well.

Potterville Posse Discounted Room Block
May 28-30, 2010

Potterville Posse members, friends, and family attending the Grace Potter and the Nocturnals benefit performance for Child and Family Services of NH on May 29 at the Lebanon Opera House can now book discounted rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in White River Junction VT.

Our rate is $80*/room/night!! (most area hotels are charging over $100 a night!! for that weekend)
*rate does not include 9% state tax

For now you need to call the property directly at 802.299.2700 and ask for the “Potterville Posse Block”. The hotel is working on a weblink for online booking but that is not up yet, I’ll keep you posted when it becomes available but I would call now because we only have 24 rooms at this special rate and these rooms will only be held until April 30!

Your stay at the Holiday Inn includes Complimentary:
• Hot/Cold Breakfast Buffet
• Snack on arrival
• Hi-Speed Wireless Internet
• State of the Art Fitness Club Use
• Refrigerators and Microwaves in all rooms
• 24 Hour Coffee Service
• Underground Parking
• 100% Smoke Free Facility
AND
• Easy 6 miles to the Lebanon Opera House!!

I would encourage you to book both Friday and Saturday nights because you KNOW the local Posse Peeps have something up their sleeves for Friday night. If the Friday gig doesn’t happen you can cancel with the hotel on Thursday May 27 without penalty or losing your Saturday night room!!
