imagination fueled by TGIF mood … Ellen brings the band responsible for that great clip of Ms. Hathaway’s entrance music on the show to play the whole song
I just can’t get into the White Rabbit cover. I really like a lot of their covers (Jet Airliner was especially tops) but I’m too starved for their new stuff. I hate to see all of their buzz come from a rehashed hit. I guess all buzz is good buzz.
Saw “Alice in Wonderland ” last night and the “Almost Alice” version of White Rabbit is a perfect fit with the Burton/Depp film, imo.
I’ve listened to all the tracks of the CD multiple times (well, a couple got only one shot) and – setting aside being a fan of GPN for a minute – I truly believe White Rabbit playing over the credits would have been the better finishing touch for the movie. Do understand the mutual benefits factor with the song that was used though.
Haven’t looked very far for reactions to “Almost Alice” but it and White Rabbit are certainly getting mentioned on Twitter. Can only think that will increase now that the movie is in theaters. Using the buzz of a big budget project to catch new ears is sort of like the old farmer/mule/2×4 joke — first you’ve got to get their attention !
