Each year the band picks a classic movie soundtrack to perform, this year our only hints are “80′s movie” and “bomber jackets”. Last year I was able to guess the choice based on clues. This year, maybe I’ll refrain – that seems like a big Danger Zone.

If were up to me, my eighties movie for the band would be: BREAKFAST CLUB
Brian Johnson:
Dear Mr. Vernon, We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did *was* wrong. But we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. What do you care? You see us as you want to see us – in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. You see us as a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal. Correct? That’s the way we saw each other at 7:00 this morning. We were brainwashed.

The Breakfast Club was certainly my second choice. Easy dress up for sure. Problem 1) the music isn’t as good 2) who plays the geek and the wrestler?
Grace = Molly Ringwald
Cat = Ally Sheedy
Scott = Judd Nelson
It gets a little harder to cast after that, unless you go with the Bill Murray character. So yes, let’s put that down as second on the list.
Any more?
For Breakfast Club:
brain-Matt
athlete-Scott
basket case-Cat
princess-Grace
criminal-Benny
Agreed on the soundtrack, not the best but represents 80s pop!
Or even better…Killer soundtrack and GREAT characters and a bomber jacket…BIG CHILL!! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085244/
But they would need two other women and a guy….
Tom Berenger … Sam Weber–SCOTT
Glenn Close … Sarah Cooper–GRACE
JoBeth Williams … Karen Bowens—CAT
William Hurt … Nick Carlton–BENNY
Kevin Kline … Harold Cooper–MATT
Mary Kay Place … Meg Jones
Jeff Goldblum … Michael Gold–SPARKY
Meg Tilly … Chloe–ADRIEN
I love your thinking . . BC is a personal favorite and yes, it is indeed a Killer soundtrack !

the clues kind of lead me to think Top Gun.
Have to admit that the BC soundtrack is more to my liking – although
Sitting on the dock of the bay, You’ve lost that loving feeling and most especially Great Balls of Fire are ones that would be fun to hear these five cover!
Whatever it does end up to be – I know it’ll be a blast!
okay – danger zone just clicked in. . . maybe you all will be hearing some Great Balls of Fire!! that should be very cool indeed.
Danger Zone kicked in for me as well . . . sounds like a song GPN would cover.
Not doubting KC’s sleuthing ability . . and agree with snowbird re: Dock of the Bay – would like to hear Grace’s version . . but rest of that soundtrack – eh.
Will be happy to hear whatever the band comes up with ( thank you tapers ) but if one isn’t going to be there anyway, one may as well fantasize about the soundtrack.
First movie that popped ino my head was Top GUn. I thought they also said the show “would be tops this year”. My fav movie, named my dog Maverick!
