It should come as no surprise to see this in my top 5 moments of the year. For those of you who couldn’t make it Brent Hallenbeck posted a few videos the day before that let you know what the show was like. Intimate and very special. The show was not completely “solo” as we had Matt around to help out on drums. My original post on the show is here.

After the show our schools teachers spoke to Grace and said “You just bought us an art program for the next school year.” I’m happy to say that the final decision on how to spend the benefit money looks like this. In addition to helping pay our music and art instructors we’ll be bringing Circus Smirkus to the school for a one week residency program in the spring. When I told Grace about our decision after the Boston HOB show I think we both teared up a bit – “Perfect, just perfect” she said.

Nice to know the good things that resulted from this. I love the videos with Grace accompanying herself on an old upright piano. That sound always takes me back to age four, and my father showing me how to play “Tea for Two” on just such an instrument. Thanks Dad for love of music, thanks Mom for love of words. And methinks there are at least two(?) similarly blessed children in that school.

Thanks for sharing! When Music=Love … We might actually get somewhere!

What a great show that was. The proof of the talent is when there’s no place to hide, just Grace and the audience for most of the show. Definitely a highlight of my 2009.

Amazing show. So blessed to have been part of that whole event. It was phenomenal-especially at a school where I once lived!

Kired said it very well re: talent.
Love the rock ‘n roll, but Grace’s performance in Bennington will always be a favorite memory. I Shall Be Released is on a very short list of songs I dearly love but can rip me to shreds if done the way it should be . . and Grace certainly did that night.
The reason for her doing the show and the results make it especially sweet also. KC – hope you’ll let us know how the Circus Smirkus residency goes . . looks like it will be a great experience for the kids . . and probably the parents !

Definitely on my short list of high lights for 2009 also. Unknowingly staying at the same hotel as them was a bonus!

Well said Todd! You always amaze me with your profound statements!!

If they’re not releasing anything, is there any plans to make the tape available via the archive?
