How do you say “raven” in French???

I was shooting for “crow” to reference the missing lyric.

Hmm runs to use babel fish crow = corneille

Noticed couldn’t hear the chant in the 10/22 Richmond show that’s up on Archive but wasn’t sure if it was missing or just didn’t come through in the recording . . didn’t catch the missing crow though so just listened again and yup — bye, bye birdy

“If I was a crow then I would caw” has been out for quite awhile now. Looks like curtain climbing is also gone.

Guess that means I need to update my live downloads mix huh ? :D
Paris isn’t a favorite so don’t pay a lot of attention to it in the Archive sets . . the chant was pretty distinctive though so ears did pick up on that change.

wonder about PC concerns or, if this is due to a recording issue – maybe some new French words will do?

All I can say is that I have seen Van wear a very cool T-shirt, a one off, I’m sure – with a great big K-Kaw emblazed across the chest.

Always did love the K-Kaw. Judges breaking the law are no where near as cool to this country girl.

BRING BACK the K-KAW!!!!! ( ;- }

Curtain climbing – meh – it was a little bit fun when we were all trying to figure it out what the heck they were singing I guess.

9 Stot October 25, 2009 at 7:06 pm

Man, I messed up a bunch of words there! haha. s/h/b Yeah, just go back to the old version and f-in rock it! :)

corbeau = raven in french per http://ets.freetranslation.com/

straight from the mouth of Grace herself…..”it means: You make me want to pull the curtains down”

I asked her after their show at Project 30-90…she laughed and then told me the real meaning. I don’t know if I was supposed to spread the word..but hey, it’s not like she’s gonna know :)

Hi Tiana, there’s another GPN fan in your area who posts here occasionally and was at the 30-90 . . also at the HOB earlier. She posts as NolaMar .. . you can drop me a pm on the message board if would like me to put you two in touch for future shows.

rock it – rack it – wreck it – whatever –
just keep playin it strong!
wondering where the other set lists are….

thinking about the Fillmore……

16 Tiana October 26, 2009 at 5:54 pm

haha well Todd, if Matt just told her then I guess I’m busted…but that’s okay with me :) If she has a bone to pick with me for telling the secret then she can do it in Nashville or Atlanta soon! lol

Oh and just for the record….I miss the Kaw-kawing too!

17 Johnny October 26, 2009 at 11:15 pm

So even back at Rothbury the Kaw-Kawing was out of that track. maybe it was the Rothburries that made it seem like it wasn’t missing.. but honestly it didn’t bug me till I just re-listened to the lyrics … the old track did seem a bit heavier too.. . I would love to see the Kaw-Kawing back though at HOB ;) rawk it … either way if Grace adds it in or not the song still is kick ass.

For the record the literal translation of Fais moi grimper au rideaux is climbing the curtains but it actually means “give me an orgasm”
