Tour dates have been posted for the fall. Looks like the Brett Dennen pairing will allow GPN to play larger venues (read bigger crowds) than they have been drawing on their own (see Baltimore). In addition, looks like GPN will be headlining in Boston, NYC and Philly. Have fun!

Any information on when tickets go up for sale?
No information, but it looks like Music Today will be handling the back end.

Who is this Brett guy, and why isn’t GPN headlining all of them! I’m one of the lucky ones that will go to the Boston and/or NY shows and get to see a longer set with GPN headlining!
The Marquee Tht is in Tempe – not Tucson. We live 15 minutes away…..
just amazingly bad timing for me- any day OTHER than Dec 11, and we’d be there wearing bells (cow-type). Dec 11 is my company Holiday party, and as a partner, I absolutley, positively, have to be there.
unbeliveable.
It’s like an episode of Hee Haw: “if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all; Gloom, despair, and agony on me”.
Better luck next year……
Joester-
I’m impressed you have already nailed down a Holiday party date!….
and regret your (bad) luck.
grace at the ramble on jan 9. oh shit, i might have to shell out the money and go to that.
the ramble does sound like one not to be missed. gotta save my pennies for that one for sure.
Jackie – don’t think they’re headlining those shows…Brett is bringing them out for this tour. I suspect…much like ages ago when they played w/Kaki King @ SC, they flipped the bill in places where GPN would have “home field advantage.” Makes sense, otherwise things may fall flat for Brett’s sets. Although, I would assume, they’re still technically the opener even for these shows.
Brett’s great IMO, but not everyone’s taste. Not really anything like GPN…much mellower. I like his writing and soul.
TIS is now banned at work. Urg! Labeled as “entertainment.” GPN’s main site has been banned for ages. They don’t want ya streaming any media. Bummer. Oh, how I miss streaming EEI.
Joester – I just realized that, guess what, I’m in the same boat as you! I’m in Chicago Nov. 19-21. Not only do I miss them on the east coast, but by 1 week in Chicago. Maybe I could fly into Phili for an overnight on the way back. I’m going to go cry me a river!

sorry to hear your bad luck as to show dates also, this is disappointing to say the least! We have not seen GPN since last November (Tucson, Club Congress), and the band sounds SO much better now, we’ve been waiting for a few months for this tour news, and a show in our town of Tempe, on a Friday night, and we can’t go.
We could have offered a good meal, drinks and dessert for the band and crew before the show – maybe next time
Just makes me more determined to spend New Year’s in Burlington.
What Ramble ?!? Levon’s? Don’t see it …. Sorry for all with bad luck/timing
My best option looks to be the Tabernacle in ATL. 3 hour (or more) drive no matter where I go, but it’s worth it. The one advantage of GPTN opening is I can get on the road earlier.
Yes, Levon Helm and the Midnight Ramble on January 9th.
More information later.

the caterer we had for last years party was just great – so when they sent us an e-mail in August saying they were already taking reservations for the month of December, we booked them for Dec 11. Who knew? seems in Az we never get great shows on a Fri or Sat night – those seem to always be in Las Vegas or LA – we usually get the Sunday or Monday night gigs here in Az. I’m still disappointed we won’t see GPN here in Tempe, but it’s making me look forward to the Radiators and Mule shows in SF and NOLA that much more.
sometimes we just NEED a great live music fix, and nothing else will fill that jones other than some intense jams.
I got tickets for the Boston show!
