by k. cortez on December 24, 2008

As we mentioned before – Grace Potter and the Nocturnals in conjunction with The Vermont Food Bank and The Potterville Posse are sponsoring a non-perishable food drive during the show at The Higher Ground on December 29th.

Matt Burr sent us this update on the band’s feelings about the event:

“In these wild times of financial fear, the Vermont Foodbank is undoubtedly the safest bank to work with. We’re honored to have them join us on the 29th.”

Your use of the shot from It’s a Wonderful Life, reminds me of what I said the other night, while we were watching it.

“Things went wrong in this country when we stopped striving to be like George Bailey and instead wanted to be like Mr. Potter.” (obviously not referencing Sparky on this one).

As a side note, Thanks to the band and all you Posse people for being George Baileys. Makes me happy to associate with ya!
