December 6, 2008

Highlights: Huge crowd, 1000+ grooving all the way to the back. New song “Be My Husband” – a great bluesy rocker with an acapella start. Nice to see Grace stand there and deliver on vocals. Blues and Lasers had an excellent set with a very strong crowd reaction. The addition of Bryan’s Theramin adds some interesting layers to a few songs.

Setlist:
Here’s To The Meantime
Ah, Mary
Mastermind
Treat Me Right
Ain’t No Time
Ragged Company
Sugar
Stop The Bus
Cheese Shout Out
If I Was From Paris
Be My Husband (First time played)

Was it just me or was it a short set?

Awesome show as usual.

From the reviews that are poppin up on the “Official” board, sounds like it was a helluva show. You lucky bunch, you.

The set was a bit short, but that was a Webster Hall restriction. The band had a strict cut off time. By 11:30 the “Grace Potter and the Nocturnals” sign was off the marquee outside and their was a dance party going on inside.

Well that explains it. Official boards say they were going to do Jet Airliner but ran out of time. Boo, hiss.

Jet Airliner was scheduled as the last song. Watching You was also supposed to be the last song before the encore so they had to cut two songs out of the set. They still went over.
