Nice piece I hadn’t seen before from the Stowe Reporter on the Obama fundraiser back in October.
However, Waitsfield native Grace Potter, now a national recording artist, turned in by far the most impressive performance of the night. I have been a fan of Potter’s since she and her band were playing at Nectar’s in Burlington several years ago. It was a thrill to meet her and her drummer Matt Burr, who has one of the coolest-looking mustaches I’ve seen in a while.

Hang’n out with the Senator. Sweet!
Spoke to bernie that night … He was Tired from two weeks of bail-out hearings. His first words were “I’m not feeling very rah rah … So you’re not going to get a rah-rah speach!” I just love that man. If ralph Nader were that hard working and/or selfless … I’d love him too. Ralph stole my cab once … I chased him down the street … “Champion of the lil’ man huh?!?”
Also … The guitar went for 1000 the first time … 800 the second. And it should be said … Grace was the highest contributor of the night. It should also be said … I’ve not been that excited politically … Since my father told me in ‘70 … That my name was on a list … And I was scheduled to run against Al Gore. You of course noticed my name wasn’t on the ballot … I became a Yippie @ 8. Smoke ins … Red paint on the pentagon … Whatever it took to get my name Off the ballot. An FBI file is a small price to pay.
Was a great night though! And we left for a bar up the road where Matt was playing w/The Eames Brothers! And all was well
