lovers lost and found

November 7, 2008

Update from TH1: “This video is from either 11/26/05 or 5/21/05. The 11/26 show was without Bryan, who hurt his back and did not make the trip down from VT that night. I think I can pick out the bass in this clip,…if so, this is be 5/21/05″. As he correctly points out, it was not on “Original Soul” but was on “LO5″.

A post on the GPN forums the other day inspired me to apply a little GoogleFu and try to dig up a video from “Original Soul”. Bingo, here’s “Lovers Lost and Found” from, I’m guessing, 9/10/06 in Fall River, MA.

As someone late to the party, really enjoyed seeing that. The more I listen to Original Soul the more I wish Grace would adapt a few of those songs and add them to the mix.
Great ‘ Sherlocking ‘ K.C. – you never cease to amaze.

Your Google Fu is indeed powerful, but I….got nuthin.

I bow to you, oh master.

I started with This Is Somewhere and worked my way back. I love Original Soul the best. Unfortunately, I wore This is Somewhere completely out. It’s t
o the point where I don’t really like hearing it anymore. I can’t wait for some new stuff.

Bob – thank you Bob. And thank you mojo for that magnificent google-fu. I admit to trying to do the same when I saw Jackie’s post just knowing that something had to be out there in cyberspace, but a neophyte like me could not find nary a drop or a dram.

This was very cool – hats off to ya!

The google-fu is strong in this one!

Good work MOJO, nice find!…greedily, may I, however, point out that it is not from Original Soul, this song was included in Live 05 so keep diggin’!!

And if I’m gonna really be a stickler for details, this was not from 9/10/06 show. That show was an outdoor gig that had Sarah Borges open. Sarah also opened the middle night of the 3 night Paradise run on Dec 8 2007…this is what I wrote about that night…..”Night Two, a sold out crowd is treated to opener Sarah Borges’ high energy, country tinged rock. I have no idea if Grace heard the set, but Sarah threw down the gauntlet. Grace simply picked it up and used it to carve up the Paradise, song by song. Mid set she set the record straight..”In case you forgot, you came tonight to see Grace Potter and The Nocturnals!” One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Grace moments:-)!!)

Also enjoy the history lessons – nominate TH1 for Official GPN Historian. An eventual ” Travels With Van ” would be nice.

I will confirm Van’s take on this since I was with him at the outdoor Fall River show……..first time meeting Grace and Scott gave Van a pre-release copy of his bands CD……and Van also got Keri’s poster signed for her……..it was one awesome Sunday!!

Good memories……..Grace also said something edgy at the start…something along the line of “Well you can go listen to that other guy playing the next street over or you can stay here and listen to GPN……..if I were you I’d stay here, we’re much better….”
