TMC: You sincerely look like you’re having the time of your life on stage.Grace: Really? Good! I’m so glad, I really try to. It’s not like I ignore problems that’re occurring. Every musician, whether you know it or not, goes through some technical difficulty on stage. And I hate to break it to you, but as happy as any musician looks there’s always going to be that moment on stage where something has gone terribly wrong. Even at your best show ever, something is fucked up. So, the art of being a performer is discovering how to do that without making the crowd not enjoy it. You don’t want to bring the crowd down with you if you have problems, so we try to find a way to make it look like every mistake that happens is in fact a piece of art. It’s like an obstacle; it’s like running the gauntlet.
Read the full interview here. I gotta confess, I don’t get the “Champ” thing.

How very apropos.
Is a bit ironic isn’t it !
Some neat bits in this interview. The comments all indicate the piece was put up today – but the festival was in late August – wonder why the delay ?
Isn’t Champ the Lake Champlain version of Nessie ?
Thanks for linking back to our interview. The delay mainly had to do with how we try to space our content (usually two weeks apart for interviews since we usually get one on average every two weeks) to make sure each interview, article, or major feature gets some time in the spotlight without being buried in our other news items and articles. We had two other interviews from Outside Lands that were added right after the fest (Matt Nathanson) and then middle of September (Nicole Atkins) and then we had an early October interview to get up for Girl Talk, so now seemed like a perfect time to shine the spotlight on Grace! We’re working on a links page and we’ll be sure to add your GP&TN page to list K. Cortex. Thanks again!
Danny, very nice of you to take the time to answer. Thank you.
Hope you realize I was not being critical – I’m just one of those people who never outgrew the “Why?” kid stage.
No problem! I didn’t think you were, but I thought I’d give an answer anyway. Never stop asking questions. I’m very pro-questioning haha. That’s why we like interviews, eh?
You are correct TFN – Champ is our local lake monster.
Nice article – always love these Q & A’s
Nice article thanks for sharing .
