sadly, nothing rhymes with skowhegan

October 22, 2008

So we can’t riff on “Thriller in Manila” possibilities for the title. Still, Mastermind Labs has been hard at work on this. Via Chuck Eller Studios.

We’ve just completed a new Live EP for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Our 4th project with the band, we handled the post-production chores of a live concert the band did in Skowhegan, Maine. It was an excellent night for the group and has some really great live energy. Look for news about it on the band’s website: www.gracepotter.com

Excellent choice of source material, if you heard this stream live on the Maine Public Broadcasting Network you’ll remember how great the show was.

Whohoooooooo – good news, awesome choice in my opinion! Such a great show, and I WAS THERE LIVE – that was my birthday show!!! Can’s wait to hear more.

I see nothing on the website? Are you breaking this news here?

Also saw:
Singer-songwriter extraordinaire, Gregory Douglass, just completed his latest masterpiece, entitled “Battler.” This is going to be a killer CD for Gregory, whom we’ve had the pleasure of working with on his last 4 CDs, and it features duets with both the amazingly talented Anais Mitchell, and Grace Potter!! Ears Ringing, Skowhegan

Am I breaking the news here first? What the? Clearly Chuck broke the news, I’m just pointing it out. This has been in the works (with the Skowhegan decision) for sometime now. The final tracks still had not been decided last week so I don’t have a time frame yet.

sadly, nothing rhymes with skowhegan
Give a bored paper-shuffling brain a little time and . . .
Skowhegan – a shining beacon.
Skowhegan – it made your knees weaken.
Take Skowhegan to the Mohegan (Sun)
Yeah they’re lousy – - but they rhyme . . . sorta . . . .

I can’t get “Freakin Skoheakin” outa’ my head…but it has to be said with a happy inflection and w/a slight slur or accent on “Skowhegan”
