one tree hill rehearsal

September 25, 2008

Grace Potter and Bethany Joy Galeotti play a song for an upcoming episode of One Tree Hill. Quality = bad paparazzi. This was filmed a few weeks ago one would guess.

Great find K.C.
Even with the limitations of the video Grace sounds really good.
Can’t wait for the episode to air.

You spelled Bethany Joy Galeotti wrong….

And a fan filmed the video not pap. Can’t wait to see the HQ version on tv.

Very interesting – odd rehearsal outdoors like that and while sound wasn’t great – it seemed pretty big for two women with acoustic guitars. I think I’d like to know more!!!

@ lks – As to the “paparazzi” I was referring to quality only.

Sounds good… too bad we won’t be hearing this song in concert though… word on the street is that the Nocs did not record this song with Grace in the studio – she got some other hired musicians to play on it, which means its pretty unlikely that we’ll ever hear it live at a Grace Potter and the Nocturnals show… just a Grace Potter show.

Lookin foward to the episode!

Huh? What does her recording it with other muscians have to do with it? Do you honestly think that the guys wouldn’t perform the song? I’m pretty sure that if Grace wants to play it, the guys will learn it. That’s just how they roll.

The show may have specified studio musicians but a whole lot of music is played live that started out in a recording studio. Why would GPN not be able to play it in a concert ? – unless the show has an exclusive ?

catchy tune..but doesn’t sound much like a Nocturnal song to me. Not to say I don’t like it, I just don’t think it fits with the Nocs FLAVA.

This isn’t a Nocturnals song. Grace was hired to play a character on the show so this song, I’m assuming, is a song the “character” might sing/write. There is absolutely no reason to think it would/should be a Nocturnals song.

Perhaps I’m wrong, perhaps the character Grace was hired to play is “Grace Potter”. If this is the case the “Grace Potter” she is playing still needs to fit in with the theme and writing of the show.

As to the Noc’s not playing on the recording of the song. Given that Grace flew down to the set to make it perhaps it was just cheaper to hire other folks to play it rather than flying the band down? Who knows . . .

Wait, you mean actors aren’t the characters they play? Then how do you explain Keanu Reeves? All those characters seem just like him. :)
