As I sit here listening on my headphones to this show all I can say is, wow. This band is really in a live groove on this show. Listen to the double whammy of “Tonight’s The Night” followed by the slashing guitar lead on “Over Again” (one of my personal faves) to understand what it’s all about.

Sure is a keeper, already downloaded my copy, and proud to say I was there at the show, live and in person, and can now listen whenever I want! Kudos to Smokin Joe!

A keeper? More than that, it’s a marinade for new listeners.

MPBN recorded this show and will be posting the audio soon. I was the one who recorded it and what I have right now is one giant audio file containing the opening act ‘s set and the house sound during the break (once we establised the audio stream at about 7:45 pm that night we just let it run lest we make people have to reconnect). I write this from a break in a daylong seminar planned weeks ago so today I have no time available but it’s tops on my priority list. As soon as I have a couple of hours to make the audio presentable, I’ll get the whole show up. Might be tomorrow (Tuesday) before I get a chance to do this.

Thanks MPBN, you guys did an awesome job. I know that I speak for many people who were listening, we really appreciated the live feed.

A most incredible live performance. Listen closely to the crowd during Ah Mary. It’s a sing along for sure.

BTW- “Can’t See Through” will be the pop charts single for 2009 that GPN accepts their first Grammy for.

How ’bout that NBTW singalong that Grace got going there – how much fun was that?? Being there, I’ll tell you it was GREAT FUN!!! NBTW is always great, but this version kicked butt bigtime!

I’ve listened and downloaded so many GPN shows that the sheer number makes my head spin but this particular show ranks near the top.

MPBN has posted the audio of the GPN set at the Skowhegan Opera House in its entirety (with a couple of photos courtesy of Maine fan Alan Holbrook) on this page:

Per MPBN’s agreement with GPN’s management, this audio is available only in Streaming Audio format (NOTE: Windows Media Player required) and will remain on MPBN’s web site for 30 days. We will take down the audio on July 30, but until then you can listen as many times as you wish, free of charge.

When I said download I meant streamed.

Snowbird: We heard lots of cowbell at the end, just before “Big White Gate.” Was that you?

It was a great show — opening band, too.

No cowbell ringing from me – but Vtshome, Carrjo and Kired were working it big time. If you wander over to youtube, you might see a clip of the righteous cowbell ringing –

Nice job, Snowbird – I enjoyed the shots of the town, also. And thanks to the guys for coming through with the cowbell – it felt a bit more like being there, expecting and then hearing it. Most kudos to kc, though, for keeping us so well informed.

Great job on the video Snowbird. Who knew cowbell playing was such a serious thing – lol.

Saygracenow – - re: “Can’t See Through”
Heard it in Portsmouth at my first GPN concert and it hit me just as hard in Skowhegan. Would love for your prediction to come true. You may want to bookmark this thread to point to next year. :]
