Watching that rockin’ video below and I couldn’t stop thinking of all the influences that are brought to bear in this tune. Most significantly is the Muddy Waters song below.
“I Just Want To Make Love To You” - Muddy Waters
Foghat had a minor hit with this in 1973 - recall that GPN covered “Slow Ride” during their return to the 70’s New Years Eve show on December 31st, 2007.
Willie Dixon, Sonny Terry & Johnny Winter - “I Got My Eyes On You”
Perhaps a bit of John Lee Hooker thrown in for kicks?
“Boom Boom”
And for total obscurity listen to the Violent Femmes take on the “Switch and Walk” at about the two minute mark of their classic “Gone Daddy Gone”

How about a little Baby Please Don’t Go, with Van the Man accompanying John Lee Hooker on harp.
Love that bayou, man.

Well, not for those with finely tuned musical sensibilities right? Still, there are others . .
