“Apologies” - Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
Beautiful Noise Concert. “Apologies” is exceedingly popular in my search logs. “One Tree Hill” has quite a bit to do with this along with Tava and the Amazon Giveaway.
- not to mention the fact that for all it’s placement value it’s a damn fine song. We all love the power rocking sound that the band can put out but it’s easy to see how this song penned by an 18 year old Grace connects with that demographic in a very powerful way.

Still like the Allen Room Solo Steinway version … But what a great show!

This will go down as one of their greatest songs ever some day. Everyone wants to hear it but they rarely do it live. Oh yeah Tipi, that Allen Room Steinway version was one for the ages!

I don’t know. I love the Nocturnals, but this song is a little fluffy for me. I like Lose Some Time and Big White Gate much better for ballads. It feels like an eighteen yr. old wrote it. To each their own I guess. Just don’t want to see them get pigeonholed with this kind of a song when their other stuff is so much cooler.

I think it feels like an eighteen year old girl wrote it because, in fact, an eighteen year old girl wrote it. While it might not be representative of the ‘Nocs work it’s certainly a path in for some segment of the population. After all some eighteen year old girls turn into twenty four year old band members don’t they?

Besides, isn’t there a law that says that every female singer-songwriter has to write one of these? You know, the kind that Zach Braff would place prominently under a voice over on Scrubs. Not a criticism of either Zach or this kind of song, just an observation. I personally like this song, as it is a fine example of the genre.

Actually Kired, at this point it’s only a bill. We’re hoping it becomes a law.

Wow, k. cortez. Talk about a blast from the past! I haven’t seen any schoolhouse rock in ages. Wouldn’t it be fall-outta-your-chair hilarious if Grace and the Nocs launched into one of these in concert?! I can just imagine a GP&TN version of “Interjections”.

Had a hard time finding a copy of this video, Fox must keep right on top of it.

Great great tune, the recorded version is flawless. Big White Gate is still the song that does it for me.

I put this video on YouTube three weeks ago and it has been viewed 16000+ times. A LOT of people love this song…especially Grace’s live vocal.
